My 10 years of experience enables me to offer effective outpatient, individualized care. I treat a number of mental health disorders, and provide a neutral ground to individuals, families, and couples. If you are looking for a caring but straightforward therapist who will guide you while exploring solutions to help you pass your current roadblock, then I’m the counselor for you.
I have worked with a variety of populations, including couples, college age students, students in elementary, middle and high school, families involved with the special education process and adults with chronic severe mental illness. I practice from a solution-focused framework and cognitive behavioral therapy.
I promise to be there for you every step of your journey. The goal of therapy is to help you grow from your struggles and move forward to where you want to be in your life.
Depression, fear, and anxiety are some of the common and troubling emotions that we all experience at some point in our lives. Through counseling you can revive the motivation, perspective, and joy that you once had in your life.
Changes in life no matter how good can cause stress. Finishing high school, earning the grades necessary to get into college or changing a career after many dedicated years- are all big changes that can sometimes amplify our anxiety levels. Transitions and making changes in our lives can cause stress even in the most well-adjusted college bound students.
Relationship counseling is beneficial to families who are looking to strengthen their emotional connection and work through difficult times. I have been working with families and parents since 2007.
Life is stressful for everyone, for women the stressors are compounded. Are you going through big life changes? Is the everyday getting to be too much? I understand the juggling act that women play, trying to balance home, children, school, and work all while trying to pay the bills on time. Studies show that women rarely take the time out of their hectic schedules for themselves. I specialize in women’s unique issues. I can help you handle the stress that comes from just being a woman in today’s world.
Navigating through the education system can be daunting. Let me guide you through the red tape and get the resources your child needs to thrive. You know your child better than anybody, I will make sure your voice is heard. With my expansive back ground in IEPs (Individualized Education Plans) and 504 accommodations / modifications, I can guide you through the process and answer any questions that you may have.
As a Counseling Supervisor I provide support with case conceptualization, methods, or specific interventions. I will provide support when things get tough and help new counselors cope with counter-transference and the heavy emotional issues that come with this field. I provide new therapists with the required one hour of clinical supervision for every 40 hours of practice that you need to meet the 100 hours of clinical supervision required for your licensure.
Resilient Parents / Guardians = resilient children. Come learn about the Community Resiliency Model (CRM). Discover basic strategies for helping you to reduce your own stress as well as stressed out or upset children.
I focus on helping individuals / families through goal-oriented therapy that takes a hands-on, practical approach to problem-solving and helps individuals / families become aware of their inner strengths.
